I have stopped believing that Detroit actually exists. In the same vein, I hope that all of you outside California recognize that it is also a made-up bogeyman intended to scare state governments into making feasible budgets. Remember Kaiser Soze? Same kind of thing… wait, didn’t he end up being real?
