Crazy Nut Job

This is the best summary of the various deflation arguments written in quite a while. My favorite, however, was back in May at Zero Hedge. I highly recommend reading both.

Of course, the dollar carry trade is a favorite right now, and it helps keep the correlation between a weaker dollar and a stronger stock market. Trying to guess when both trades will go out of style would require an impressive amount of luck. Bubbles always go on longer than most who identify them as such predict.

If you fall into the camp predicting persistent inflation, you should at least make sure you are aware of the arguments in these articles. And yes, the fact that Congress, the Administration, and the Fed all want inflation to win over deflation is a pretty compelling reason to worry about inflation. As noted in the linked article:

Of course, most people who are arguing we will have deflation for a while believe that we might eventually get inflation at some point in the future.
