When will the bull market for Treasuries end?
US Treasuries have enjoyed a 30 year bull market. Like all bull markets, it must eventually end. Many people expect it to end badly. Count me as one of those people, but don’t count me among those claiming it’s already over.
I look at this graph and then I look at Japan’s 1.3% yield on their 10-year. It’s a bit of an apples and oranges comparison: Japan’s CPI just fell 1.2% year over year. Their central bank just announced it will hold rates steady. Investors there can afford to sit on low yields.
