Crazy Nut Job
5/14/2010

I’ve written too much today and have started drinking, so you get the rest of this in condensed form.

  1. Moody’s Downgrades Nearly $10bn of Wells Fargo Jumbo Mortgage Securities - The housing crisis is not over. It is working its way up the ladder.

  2. ‘Unemployed’ Have Given $6.9 Million In Political Contributions Since 1990 - My favorite bit is this: “So far in the 2010 cycle, which is soon entering the home stretch, the jobless have only given up $323,413. Maybe it’s the recession.”

  3. The second debt storm: Who will bail out the countries that bailed out the world’s corporations? - Just a reminder that some people want you to panic.

  4. How the University of California Helped to Create the Global Fiscal Meltdown - This is humor of the “Correlation = Causation” variety. Some interesting stats are thrown in, and some of the minor points are quite interesting.

  5. Geithner Sees Europe Managing Crisis Without Fallout for U.S. - crazynutjob sees Geithner smoking, wonders what it could be.

  6. Companies Dodge $60 Billion in Taxes Even Tea Party Condemns - I’ve seen this commented on a few places today.

  7. Debt overload, and the hunt for a successor to U.S. bonds - A counterpoint to my conversation with jakke.

And I now apparently have friends coming over. I should put some more beer in the fridge (and more pants on my body).
