Crazy Nut Job
Asset Classes

I’ve been annoying my friends recently by asking them what asset class they think will perform the best over the next 10 years, then playing devil’s advocate and providing a scenario under which the chosen asset class will underperform. I’ve debated both sides of gold, oil, other specific commodities[1], stocks, corporate bonds, government bonds, real estate, and cash. I also had to debate the pro- side of investing in education with a friend who’s discouraged with law school, but I’m extremely pro-education (and there are reasons not to be). I’m curious what asset class or mix people think will do the best over the next 10 years, and perhaps more importantly, why?

[1] I don’t know why the current bacon fadenlightenment hasn’t made people follow commodities more. You do realize that Pork Bellies are where bacon comes from, right?
